Submit A Story
So, you have a story to tell or a picture to share or an event you think everyone should know about…
Here is how you do it!
Story Submissions:
In 1,000 words or less, tell us your story. Show us what you want us to know. Make us smell it, taste it, imagine it with you. Write it in a Word document and email it here: rockymountstories@yahoo.com and make sure to include all contact information. We will review all submissions, contact you, and let you know when your story is scheduled for publication. In order to make this place the best place possible, sometimes stories will need a little help to smooth out their rough edges. We’re here to help, so please let us help!
Everyone has a story to tell, so please do not let your fears about submitting a story or your fears of rejection, prevent you from using your voice. ALL stories submitted have a place here. There are no winners or losers or voting! So go write and submit. We can’t wait to read them all!
Without your stories, this place will cease to exist.
Photography Submissions:
We’d love to feature photos along with our stories, so we would love to have some of you local photographers snap your hearts out. Your photo will receive credit with the stories and will be used throughout the blog site. Also, you need not be a professional in order to submit photos.
If some of you have pictures stored away in drawers all over your house, particularly pictures from the downtown glory days, we would really love to have those submitted. You can scan them onto your computer and email them here: rockymountstories@yahoo.com.

Oral Submissions:
If you can talk a blue streak and you have a memory etched away in your mind that you’d love to share, we can help you with that! We would love to meet you for coffee, our treat, and listen as you share. We will write the story in your own words and we’d be honored to do so! In the future, we will also create video stories and vocal recordings of your stories. We are a diverse group of people and we would love to capture the many different faces and dialects and share them here.

Regular Contributors:
If you are a local writer and you would like to be considered for a spot here at Rise as a regular contributor, contributing at least 2 stories a month, we would LOVE to have you! Please send a short bio, 2 samples of your writing, and why you’d love to write here. We believe that the best stories are those shared in community and we’d love to be in community with you.
